This week’s Fashionista’s style is more than personal; it’s playful. She borrows the best of color, pattern, fabric and fit to create a stylistic vision that’s inarguably all her own. This winter-friendly look is not only fashionable, but also practical given the brutal temperatures hitting NYC. Combining the elegance of a quaint silk scarf with the flare of fingerless gloves and chunky legwarmers, this Fashionista’s layers create a bohemian look that battles the cold to boot. From color combination to bold accessories, this ensemble will surely steal attention throughout the gray winter months.
Name: Suzy Sikorski

Major: International Political Economics
CollegeFashionista: If you had to whittle down your wardrobe to five items, what would they be?
Suzy Sikorski: My Hermes scarf, gold hoops, legwarmers, my Louis Vuitton crossover bag and this Egyptian hieroglyphic necklace I always wear.
CF: Although you love layering for winter, what’s your favorite season to dress for and why?
SS: Definitely summer because you can wear a lot of loose clothing. I love bright and colorful clothing, and with a tan it always looks better!
CF: Describe your personal style in three words.
SS: Avant garde, chic, sophosticated.
CF: Are there any style statements you’re dying to try this season?
SS: I’ve never tried this but I want to pair a high waisted skirt with different types of patterned leggings or something.
CF: Has living in New York City had an affect on the way you approach your style?
SS: Definitely. I see so many people from all over the world that all dress so differently. I love seeing how the Europeans dress especially. When I went to France I loved seeing how they treated style and how interestingly they dress.
How To: Get this Fashionista’s look by doubling up on bright scarves. Pair bright accessories with an oversized coat and cozy leg warmers to combat the cold.
